The Venue on the Green
Planning permission for the Venue on the Green was granted in September 2015 and FRPC and FRYACC established the Venue Implementation Group (VIG). This small, talented group consists of the Clerk to The Parish Council, the Vice Chair FRPC, the Architect, the Project Manager, the Contractor and the Finance Director of FRYACC. It’s their job to put the much longed for plans into operation. The VIG, as well as professionals in the industry, have been meeting regularly over the last couple of years to refine the design, conduct structural assessments and commission environmental surveys all in order to prepare the plans for the tendering process. The tendering process was launched early in 2018 and at the FRPC meeting in May there was a majority vote to proceed with the project and select a contractor.
It is now our pleasure to reveal the contractor for the build of the new youth centre Is Douch Partners who will be no strangers to most of you. It is a Forest Row company who won the contract from a blind comparison with a second builder and who were accepted by The Parish Council a few weeks ago.
The VIG met on June 11th and agreed that as the project moves into construction, the VIG will now expand into three working groups:

- The Construction Team. Self evident really, but they will operate the schedule of works, ordering goods, signing off invoices and running the show.
- The Business Team. This group will devise & work to the business plan for the running costs of the completed project, how the Venue is organised and run, Health & Safety, Safeguarding and staffing etc.
- The Publicity Liaison Group. These good people will keep you up to date with all things VOTG and you’ll be able to find up to date information here as well as on the Parish Council (Localism) website.
